The Project

PACE is pleased to announce that Tophams Solar has entered the construction phase. Following four years of development, during which PACE worked closely with the grid, Local Authority, and technical consultants to deliver a well-considered scheme, the project will now progress to delivery.

The transition to construction will be led by PACE’s EPC team, ensuring continuity from initial site identification through planning and construction, and ultimately into operation.

  • Tophams Solar Farm will generate enough clean electricity to power approximately 15,700 homes each year, while preventing around 11,300 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

  • This is equivalent to removing approximately 2,450 family cars from the road network each year. Alongside supporting the transition to net zero, the scheme will deliver meaningful enhancements to local biodiversity.

  • The co-located battery storage facility will supply electricity to the electricity network at times of peak energy demand and help make the renewable energy output of the solar farm a secure and reliable part of the UK energy supply.

  • In 2019, North Hertfordshire declared a climate emergency and set targets to become net zero by 2030. Tophams Solar can make a significant contribution to these goals and will support the transition to a clean, sustainable, low-carbon future.
